Banksy Film (Art Event #1)

Going to the Banksy film was really fun.  It was interesting to learn about street art.  The most exciting part of the movie was seeing everything that goes behind creating graffiti and other street art.  Some people see graffiti as vandalism, but it's actually a unique form of art.
Banksy, one of the most talented street artists was featured in the film.  It's interesting because he wants to remain anonymous, so he wears a hood and his voice is taped over and changed.  The movie followed film artist Theierry Guetta, who would tape almost every aspect of his life.  Banksy had always been an inspiration to Guetta.  One day Guetta received a call; Banksy needed him to be a “helper.”  Guetta rushed to where Banksy was, bought him a phone and told him to call him whenever he wanted.
Theierry slowly started to become a friend of Banksy’s.  He knew he could be trusted with keeping his identity, and eventually he even allowed him to film their various escapades.
Toward the end of the film, the focus shifted to Guetta.  Banksy inspired him to start his own work as an independent artist.  Guetta was very successful after his first art show and ended up selling over $1,000,000 worth of his work.
